James is responsible for product leadership and portfolio management of multi-asset income solutions.  He also works directly with advisors to provide portfolio consulting services to further support their business growth through the delivery of optimized client investment outcomes.

Prior to joining Independent Advisor Solutions, James was Senior Vice-President & Lead Portfolio Manager at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth, and Supervising Portfolio Manager at CI Assante Wealth Management, where he was responsible for oversight of the Managed Account Program. James was Partner & Private Wealth Leader for Mercer Canada’s Private Wealth Management practice, and National Vice-President & Lead for MD Private Investment Counsel and MD Signature Private Wealth Management. James has significant experience acting as advisor and consultant to high net worth retail and institutional clients and as a fixed income portfolio manager and trader.
 
James has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Regina and holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Financial Planner designations. James is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts, the CFA Institute, and the Financial Planning Standards Council.
